Television Review: 'The Choir' on BBC America Posted: 07 Jul 2010 12:00 AM PDT This compilation of three British series about singing is a reality show that's unlike what Americans are used to. It's better. You won't see anything better on television this summer than "The Choir," a show about singing that begins Wednesday on BBC America. I usually avoid such superlatives as indemonstrable subjective hyperbole, but I am willing to make an exception here. |

Television Review: 'Come Dine With Me' on BBC America Posted: 07 Jul 2010 12:00 AM PDT Everyday people show off their culinary skills in their own homes in this Britain-based cooking competition that combines drama and heart. For those who wonder what reality television would look like if it hadn't been hijacked by drama queens — Gordon Ramsay, Speidi, Jon and Kate, the assorted Housewives — or if it wasn't so obviously and ruthlessly scripted and over-produced, "Come Dine With Me," which premieres Wednesday on BBC America, is entertaining and addictive proof that less is definitely more. |
