Critic's Notebook: Gordon Ramsay, the two-headed food hydra Posted: The market-savvy Scottish chef is a bleep-filled dysfunction fighter on his U.S. shows. And then there's the host of his BBC America imports — where he mainly focuses on the food, not kitchen theatrics. Somewhat to my surprise, I am a fan of Gordon Ramsay, the Scottish chef and TV personality. He is not, strictly speaking, a "TV chef," like Julia Child or Bobby Flay, though he will grab a pan and a knife every so often to demonstrate how easy it is to cook something and, paradoxically, how much better he is at cooking it than you will ever be. |

Protest against TV show 'Jose Luis Sin Censura' gains steam Posted: Time Warner Cable and AT&T have pulled ads from the talk show, described as a raunchy Spanish-language 'Jerry Springer,' at the urging of a gay and lesbian group and the Hispanic Media Coalition. A months-long campaign by the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation and the National Hispanic Media Coalition to protest the Liberman Broadcasting Inc. talk show "Jose Luis Sin Censura" has picked up steam, with two large companies agreeing to pull their commercials from the program. |
