Investigator urged extortion charges for Gibson's ex-girlfriend Posted: Lead detective says the district attorney's office rejected his findings that Oksana Grigorieva and her lawyers made 'implied threats' to ruin the actor's career. The Los Angeles County district attorney's office decided not to charge Mel Gibson's ex-girlfriend with extortion over the objections of the lead investigator, who concluded that a demand by her attorneys for $20 million in exchange for damaging recordings and photos merited prosecution, according to a document reviewed by The Times. |
